Peshkar Takes Centre Stage in Seoul: Young Digitals Festival Heads to CICA Museum

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Peshkar will be exhibiting at the prestigious CICA Museum in Seoul, South Korea this September! Our work will be featured in the international exhibition “Visual Culture 2025” from 10-28 September, marking another exciting milestone in Peshkar’s global journey.
What’s Heading to Seoul?
The spotlight will be on our brilliant Young Digitals Festival 2025, curated by the talented Stewart Knights (esK). This celebration of digital culture, which brought together communities across Greater Manchester libraries, will now reach new audiences halfway around the world.
Two standout pieces are making the journey:
A dynamic video compilation showcasing the festival’s highlights at Oldham Central Library – capturing the energy, creativity, and community spirit that made YDF 25 so special.
Our collaborative YDF 25 zine – a beautiful double-sided creation measuring 39 inches by 8 inches that tells the story of young people exploring history and heritage through digital and traditional visual arts.
Part of Something Much Bigger
This exhibition isn’t just a standalone event. It’s connected to the International Symposium for Visual Culture (ISVC) 2025, where Peshkar’s Jim Johnson will present a paper titled “Global Canvas – Narratives through Youth-led International Arts Collaboration at Peshkar (2010-2025)” in Washington DC on 20 September.
The symposium, hosted by Montgomery College’s Visual and Performing Arts Department in partnership with CICA Museum, represents exactly what Peshkar is all about – creating meaningful connections between communities, celebrating young people’s voices, and proving that great art happens when we work together across borders.
Why This Matters
For 15 years, Peshkar has been building bridges through collaborative arts projects. From our early Global Canvas work to the recent Berlin Artist Excursion and now this Seoul exhibition, we’re constantly exploring how digital culture can connect communities worldwide.
The Young Digitals Festival perfectly embodies our approach – bringing together international artist collaborations, digital heritage exploration, and genuine community partnerships. Seeing this work celebrated on the international stage at CICA Museum is incredibly exciting.
Looking to the Future
This exhibition opens up brilliant opportunities for future UK-South Korea collaborations. We’re already dreaming about youth artist exchanges, digital heritage projects that weave together British and South Korean cultural narratives, and co-productions that could reshape how we think about international arts partnerships.
Watch this space – Seoul might just be the beginning of something extraordinary!
